kumqwaat Practice Round | Pre-Arrival Information

Dear Scholars,
We're so excited to welcome you to the kumqwaat Practice Round! We're writing with a few important updates and reminders.

Event Overview

The kumqwaat Practice Round is designed to mirror the structure and pacing of a World Scholar’s Cup round while offering greater flexibility. Scholars may participate individually or as part of a team. Scholars will be able to check in online for the entirety of the event and may complete Collaborative Writing and the Scholar’s Challenge at any point during their assigned access window.

All event access links, schedules, and updates will be available through the kumqwaat portal. Further details will be shared at the opening ceremony.

Event Check-In

Online event check-in for scholars is scheduled from to on the kumqwaat portal website. Scholars do not need to check in at a specific hour and may begin their events once check-in is complete.

Check-in with Discord This will verify your Discord identity for event access.

Awards & Recognition

To celebrate outstanding performance, discord nitro prizes will be awarded to:

  • Champion Team — 1 month regular Nitro per scholar
  • Champion Scholar — 3 month Regular Nitro OR 1 year Basic Nitro
  • Jac Khor — 1 month Basic Nitro

Devices Policy

During the events, scholars should stay ONLY on the exam webpage. Changing tabs may cause your scores to be flagged. Scholars should also work independently unless explicitly instructed otherwise (such as during team discussion periods in Collaborative Writing).

Debate

There is no debate portion for the kumqwaat Practice Round. Scoring will be adjusted to reflect this change.

There will be 2 opening ceremonies. Scholars may choose to attend either.
